A popular podcast needs a fresh logo

The Rumcast is a podcast that helps people explore the world of rum by hearing from the people who shape it. It's conversational, fun, but also informative and educational—listeners always learn something about rum but have a good time doing it.

There are a few things we definitely don't want in the logo. We are a podcast, but we don't want to see any microphone imagery as we feel that's overused. In terms of rum-related imagery, please do not use pirates, ships, and palm trees—we don't want to look like a tropical beach bar or tiki bar. There's a whole lot more to rum than that! We're more focused on the spirit itself and the distillation process. For example, rum comes from sugarcane, and we like the idea of sugarcane being incorporated in some fashion (though you don't have to limit yourself to that). Barrels tend to be overused in spirits-related logos, so if they are incorporated in the logo we'd prefer them to not be the main focus. When choosing logos we liked, we favored those that featured a typeface and an emblem of sorts that can be used on its own. We also like logos that will look good when used as social media profile pictures. We've also uploaded some logo ideas we did NOT like from a previous designer.
