Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The IPMA is the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association and has a membership of about 750 podiatrists in the state. The IPMA is held every fall and is, generally, only marketed to members and our typical attendee tends to be “old school” for lack of a better word. The speakers for this meeting have previously been members of the association or board members, leaving the meeting feeling a bit mediocre in comparison to some of the regional meetings. Our incoming president would like to change both our marketing approach and our level of speaker moving forward. Our board would like to get this meeting to appeal to podiatrist of all specialties and backgrounds (sports medicine, surgery, diabetes, orthopedics, etc.) and really start to appeal to the younger podiatry demographic through the level of speaker and variety of sessions offered. The message we would like translate for the 2018 conference is one of growth, forward momentum, building, and broadening – not only in our attendance numbers but from the value and quality received. The logo can tie back to podiatry/medicine but does not need to be strictly podiatry focused (i.e. a foot). Words that come to mind that generate the "feel" we want to give off is advancement - something along the lines of breaking the mold, breaking the routine/monotony, a break from the ordinary, forward motion, moving forward, forward momentum, excel, accelerate, etc.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
No real preference on color; no pinks and reds (typically don’t do well for conference themes since they are associated with warning or stops).

While the slogan is pending it might be nice to have a placeholder included in the design should we choose to include in the logo. Potential slogan is "A Break from the Ordinary." Other considerations are something along the lines of breaking the mold, breaking the routine/monotony, etc.
