Photography Logo (engineering/architecture/construction)

I am looking for a logo that incorporates the company name but contains a graphic element that can stand alone. I'd prefer to avoid the "cliche" photography symbols and instead develop something that speaks to my photographic niche.

typically prefer to avoid red, but open to ideas; tend to layout on black

My niche is engineering, construction, architecture, and aerial photography.

As I mentioned, I would prefer a logo that contains a graphic/symbol that can stand alone for purposes of a watermark, etc. In general, the logo would be displayed on a black background; however, I need it to translate to a white background as well. I'm open to color, but the grayscale appearance will be important.

While I do not want a logo with a photo in it (for simplicity and reproduction reasons), I do have a photo that I've considered using as a starting point.
