BruceMount got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Photographer Watermark/logo for Bruce Mount
Check out BruceMount's Logo design contest…
My name is Bruce Mount, and I am a photographer. I want a logo/watermark that I can add on top of the photographs I publish. Since these will be added on top of photographs, it is best if the style can work in both black and also white. Most colors could conflict with the subject of the photograph (although some photographers still use some color).
The attached file shows how some other photographers do this, including my current (text only) watermark. You can see many others by searching Google Images for "photographer watermarks". ==================== I would like the logo/watermark to contain: (1) A symbolic element (e.g., such as a stylized letter "M", but this is not required). This element should be recognizable at a quick glace (i.e., without having to read close-up detail). (2) The text "mount.photography" (which will be my web address). This element can be smaller than the symbolic element above (but does not have to be). Note that "Mount" in this context is my last name, so the association is with my name (i.e., not with "mounting" a photograph) The design MUST be flexible enough to work at different sizes, and by able to be placed on top of photographs that could be of many colors. I would want the logo/watermark comes in two versions: (1) A light version (to be used on top of darker pictures) (2) A dark versions (to be used on top of lighter pictures).
