Future independent home inspector providing deep/thorough home inspections (exterior + interior) for home buyers (mainly in Philadelphia). I've worked for two major inspection companies and want to move beyond the constraints of company policies and become an independent inspector. My inspections include: exterior openings for moisture + pest intrusion, proper rain drainage, damage, installation defects, scaling a ladder to inspect the roof and chimney, checking the interior for moisture intrusion, making sure all systems function properly, detecting safety hazards inside and out, structural integrity and recommendations for improving existing conditions. I've received many 5 star reviews with a large portion being from nervous first-time home buyers. I've even had people who were selling their house where I did the inspection, and when that seller later became a buyer, they hired me because they admired the way I had inspected the house they were previously selling. I've been told by multiple real estate agents that the inspections they have attended only take two hours, where as my inspections have been known to take 4+ hours. It's common in my profession for inspectors to be quick and basic in order to earn more money doing multiple inspections per day. I’m open to ideas, but have played with the idea of a sports team style + a red, white and blue color scheme (since I live and work in Philadelphia) but I would not want a blatantly patriotic design, and I think I would like more blue than any other color. I've also played with the idea of blue sky + green land. I mainly inspect rowhomes/rowhouses and I like the idea of a silhouette of few rowhomes, or block of rowhomes ("iconic Philly") + a tree or two from a perspective that shows dimension. A font idea is to have a thick/large "Philly Inspect" at the top and a smaller "Home Inspections" tilted to be aligned with the perspective of the silhouette of rowhomes. I don't know if this will be too much on the eyes, but just an idea. Another idea is a ladder going up a rowhome(s) with the silhouette of a person at the top holding their arm/fist up.
