We worked with this designer to help redesign our outdated logos as part of one of the contests. She was very responsive to our design ideas and was not afraid to give us alternate ideas. We will work with this designer for our future needs in this realm when ever possible.
I've worked with SplashThemes several times. I always enjoy our projects. SplashThemes is not only talented, but very timely and willing to work hard! Will absolutely work with again!
I was very pleased with the quality of the design and its alignment to our brief, the final result is excellent.

This project is a new craft nanobewery in the city of Los Angeles, CA. The logo/name is inspired by the classic 1921 (public domain) Swedish film "The Phantom Carriage". Since it will represent our craft beer brand -- we're trying to avoid a cartoonly feel to it. Our target audience will be craft beer drinkers of various age and background. The vast majority of our beers will go into oak for our barrel-aging program.
I would like the logo to be Old World-inspired with an ominous, almost gothic feel to it. The font should be easily readable but very Old World / rustic as well. Big fan of Old World woodcuts by Hans Holbein the Younger's (work such as "Dance of Death"). Please stay away from hops and grains in the design.
Just the name of the brand and a horse-drawn carriage (two wheels) with a "phantom" rider holding a scythe. If possible... oak barrels would be cool inside the carriage (but not critical to the design).
Feel free to use the original "The Phantom Carriage" image as a jumping off point -- but make it your own and original. I really like the silhouette element going on in the original design too.
So be creative...
Thanks and good luck!
