Paranormal Investigative Group in NY needs logo

We are a paranormal investigation group called "Long Island Society for Paranormal Research" or LISPR. If you've ever seen the show "Ghost Hunters" that is exactly what we do. We were recently added as the New York chapter of "TAPS" (the group you see in the show Ghost Hunters) and as a result we are getting more exposure and therefore need a more professional image.

It will be used on our website and possibly business cards/literature, etc * PLEASE NOTE: There are 5+ members of our group who are reveiwing/commenting on your designs. We will make every effort to comment at least once a day on your submissions but please be a little patient with us. Sometimes its hard to collect everyone's feedback in a timely manner. THANKS. Our current website is: www.lispr.com and we are in need of a makeover so we decided to start with our logo. We are a not for profit paranormal investigative group based on Long Island in New York. We are a professional group. Organized and dedicated to capturing and/or debunking paranormal activity so we'd like something that conveys seriousness, if possible. We shy away from stereoptypical "ghost hunter" images, ie: cartoonish ghosts but specifically heavy BLACK coloring. Black font is ok, but no designs with black backgrounds, etc. We are leaning towards whites and blues. We like the font GARAMOND (or something similiar). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED INFORMATION: Over the past few days we've flip-flopped amongst ourselves as to which direction to go with the design. What has happened is that one of our own members came up with a *very* rough design but one that we all agree on! We are now hoping you guys can "clean it up" for us! Here is a link to the rough draft: http://www.enchantedindigo.com/lispr_logo_attempt.htm Here is what we like and want to keep in the design: * BLACK silhouette of Long Island * the Island should be slightly "tipped up" towards the right (as some of you have already done) * the EVP "wave" around LISPR in that shade of green (You can find a sample of that EVP wave here: http://www.52z.com/uploadImages/200637214155.gif) * LISPR in the center of the Island * under the Island the whole name should be spelled out: Long Island Society for Paranormal Research * All fonts should be Garamond * It seems the color of LISPR across the Island needs to be white in order to be seen, but the full name underneath the island can probably be black. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those of you who are not familiar with Long Island, here are a few other companies that have the shape of Long Island in their logo.
