The Palmyra Atoll Research Consortium (PARC) is a collaborative partnership of scientific research, conservation, and educational institutions that conducts innovative, interdisciplinary scientific research on the natural ecosystems of Palmyra Atoll and the central Pacific.
PARC undertakes collaborative research to understand terrestrial, marine, and climate systems of Palmyra Atoll and the central Pacific that advances the conservation of island and coastal systems worldwide.
Our logo will be used on our website and scientific presentations, also t-shirts and hats. We likely will never have business cards or materials like that.
Our audience are the public and potentially donors, and scientists. We want an identifiable "brand" but it's not really for marketing in the traditional sense. We want to be recognized.
Much of the science we do on Palmyra focusses on marine biology and island land biology. We study seabirds, sharks, corals, trees but our logo doesn't necessarily need to include cartoons of these things. One of the most distinctive things is the Atoll itself, we've included a few images of the atoll outline.
