New logo required for Australian coastal information website (http://www.ozcoasts.org.au).
OzCoasts provides comprehensive information about Australia’s coast, including its estuaries and coastal waterways. This information helps to generate a better understanding of coastal environments, the complex processes that occur in them, the potential environmental health issues and how to recognise and deal with these issues.
The website has previously been called OzEstuaries and now OzCoast and OzEstuaries, but will soon undergo a name change to OzCoasts to reflect a wider coastal agenda. The website has grown a lot since it started in 2003 (as OzEstuaries) and will continue grow due to the current focus on climate change and other environmental issues. We request a logo for the new website. The OzCoasts website is hosted in Geoscience Australia which is the national custodian for coastal geoscientific data and information. The organisation has developed, in conjunction with the National Land and Water Resources Audit and former Coastal CRC, the OzCoasts web-based database and information system to draw together a diverse range of data and information on Australia’s coasts and estuaries. This information and data help to generate a better understanding of Australia's coastal environments. The content of the site represents the collaborative efforts of more than 100 coastal scientists from a wide range of government agencies and universities.
