How maryanne parsons started their logo design journey
Partners In Outreach
We are a new organization started by 5 middle aged individuals. As partners in outreach, our mission is to provide compassion in moments of need; recognizing opportunities and inspiring those who give and those who receive.
We have been undertaking various projects in an informal way for several years and there are so many groups and individuals that want to help. We are formalizing in order to broaden our horizons and let people know that they can join in our efforts. We know that collectively, we can make a difference. We are not only helping those in need --but we are helping ourselves and those who choose to give in recognizing our responsibility to our surrounding communities.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our materials will be sent to individuals and businesses that we hope will join us in our mission to help others in need. It may be a large retail corporation that we hope to partner with in providing supplies to communities needing assistance with their basic needs. For example, we provide Easter outfits to 500 children and we try to give some shoe gift cards to those families in most need. We'd like a large shoe chain to assist us perhaps by matching each shoe gift card purchased. We'd also like to ask food shoppers and chain supermarkets to join in an effort to provide a piece of fruit a day for children who go without.
Our audience will start with suburban families who demonstrate the spirit of giving already. We are not just asking for financial support. There are many ways for people to appreciate the feeling and experience of giving and making a positive impact on the lives of others. We collect new and gently used easter outfits for a local community and people enjoy passing on something that can be appreciated by another less fortunate. We want to help partner that experience so that many can give and many can receive.
Simple but not childish
this logo will be used on letterheads, business cards and other marketing media.
It may also be incorporated on promotional materials such as keychains or pins.
ideas we like are the following:
holding hands--ie: partnership, fellowship
sun rays---ie: providing hope
circular form--ie: unity and togetherness
we also like the name incorporated into the icon or attached to it --the name and the icon should be together--not one without the other.
colors we like are green, blue and yellow
but are open to other ideas!
