How PRL started their logo design journey
A small group of students and professors at a variety of schools are launching a site to develop and share research hacks; little tips, ideas, and software they utilize in their day-to-day research that make their work easier.
We're looking for a good looking, "modern" logo. Bonus points if it is easily scalable. Also, we'd really like whatever logo we choose in .PSD and .PNG formats.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We're finally doing it. We've found enough people with enough interest (and time) to actually put together a site. Now all we need is a good logo and design.
Conceptually, ResearchHacks was launched years ago in a small bar in Philadelphia. In reality, a domain was purchased and WordPress installed on a server a few weeks ago. Someone might have thrown together some Ruby to analyze fluorescent images and a few LaTeX tutorials too. We're aren't quite sure yet.
We've got a handful of tips and research methods we'd like to share publicly and develop with other scientists without all of the red tape and bureaucracy. What we need is a logo.
We're all stuck in academia, so we've got limited resources.
- Something creative.
- Something pretty.
- Something lacking creativity.
- Something ugly.That's sort of a joke.
We know how ridiculous that sounds.
To be entirely honest, we don't know what we want or what we don't want, we just know that we need a logo and know that a lot of you are extremely talented.
