Food & Drink
Larsen Bakeri is a local baker's shop and cafè/konditorei in a rural community, Skånevik, on the west coast of Norway. It's been a family owned and run business since 1888. We are proud to serve artisan bread, cakes, coffee and more of high quality in a friendly environment. The main customers are both the inhabitants and companies of Skånevik, the people driving through the village and tourists. The bakery has over the resent years, and will more so in the future, sell its products in the self owned cafè (as opposed to sell through regional grocery stores). This has implications to the logo design as the logo/packaging doesn't have to compete with other breads in a shelf. Almost all sales in the future will be done by customers how have chosen to enter our store or call us for an order.
Logo types to explore
We want the logo to implement the picture of the son of the founder of the bakery and his wife who took over and ran the bakery after her husband died. We have a vision of the logo as this picture with the name "Larsen Bakeri" under or around it, in the font used now (attached). This font is the same as used in the logo now - recognisable for our customers. For the logo to also represent something modern, and introducing colours and freshness we think "tuttifrutti" (topping for ice cream), as shown in a attached picture can be added. We think this effect also can work as a "pattern" allowing the design to be more than just a logo, but create a frame/pattern for when the logo is to be used with other text. We would like that the colour of the background the logo mainly should work against are suggested by the designer (breadbags, signs etc). Brown, white or transparent are the most common.
