About us: The Uniform Box is a future dry-cleaning depot-based business. planned to be located at every major airport across Canada and the US. We plan to use the latest dry-cleaning technology to offer a 24/hour service using an Automated Dry-Cleaning Kiosk or ADCK, which will allow customers to drop off or pick up their uniforms at whatever time is most convenient for them. Target customer: Our Target Market is all uniform wearing air crew and employees based at a major airport, who wear a company issued uniform that is labeled “dry clean only.” This includes the following employee groups, pilots, flight attendants, gate agents, police, and customs agents. The majority of customers will be flight attendants between the ages of 20 to 30.

Our company colours will be a light blue and a light green. Using the RGB colour codes we specifically are looking for a blue like or similar to #2dbeff and a green like or similar to #4bd848.

Values we wish to communicate through our logo: We wish to communicate three main concepts through our logo. 1) Eco Green – The Uniform Box will be using the latest in green dry-cleaning technology to clean customer uniforms. We want our Logo to mirror that commitment. Even when a new potential customer sees our logo for the first time, we want them to immediately think, “environmentally friendly dry cleaners… got it!” 2) Modern – We want our logo to look modern for two reasons. First, our Logo must match the aesthetic of our depot locations. The depots are going to have a modern and sleek feel and look. Plus, each depot will have a technological center point, the ADCK, something not typically seen at dry cleaners. 3) A return to the golden age of aviation – The golden age of aviation was the time between 1930’s to the mid 1950’s. This is the time where everyone would wear their best suit and dress while taking a flight and eat lavish meals inflight. During this time uniforms were well tailored and looked great. We want to bring our customers back into the feeling of luxury uniforms during the golden age of aviation. We have considered a modern looking art deco font or a combination mark logo using a Pictorial mark with modern art deco features. We are also open to forgoing this design element in our logo and sticking to a more modern and sleeker font. Logo Design: We would like our logo to be a combination style logo with a pictorial mark either above or on the left side of our company name, not on the right. We would like our company name, THE UNIFORM BOX to be capitalized with spaces in-between each word. Below THE UNIFORM BOX, we would like our tagline to say 24 Hour Dry Cleaning. We would like each word capitalized with the rest of the word lowercase. We would also need this tagline to be removable when necessary. We would also like “THE UNIFORM” to be blue with “BOX” being green, plus ’24 Hour Dry Cleaning” being blue as well. We would also prefer a white background behind the logo. Though we are open to your artistic interpretation and knowledge in this area. Company name and tagline examples: Disregarding the font, we have provided examples of the colour scheme and layout of our logo below. If the pictorial mark is above the company name, we would prefer our tagline to be centered. When the pictorial mark is on the left of the company name, we would like our tagline to be inline with our company name. pictorial mark examples: We have considered several options for the pictorial mark but have not found the perfect option yet. We will provide examples but we are quite open to your own artistic interpretation. There have been two leading ideas for our pictorial mark. First is a simplified line drawn style pilot in uniform surrounded by a box. We have provided two examples below and the inspiration for this design. The second option would be a simple 2D clip art style aircraft along with either a box or globe but we do prefer a box. We have included two examples that show the type of aircraft design we like. We especially like the look of the wings and tail being separate pieces from the aircraft. We would also be interested in using a 3D box rather than a 2D box. Please feel free to experiment with the pictorial mark. We are not set on any option and we hope that this competition will help us narrow down what we’re looking for.
