Military science fiction series needs a brand logo.

This is going to be a logo used to brand a series of sci-fi novels. It's called the "Omega Force Series" and I'd like an image that can be easily affixed to back covers, merchandise, etc.

I already have a fairly specific idea of what I'm looking for. I've included a cobbled together idea from a stock image and a similar font to what is used on the covers (also included). I'd like the skull to be a little more stylized with pronounced canines (fangs) and the wings to be stretched more left to right than curved up as in the example pic. Also, a more mechanical look to the wings is preferred. The series is a military-style sci-fi series and this logo will brand the mercenary unit like you would see on a patch worn by the U.S. military.
