Mentor 1, a program of the non-profit organization Motivating Pathways, is a mentoring program providing a direct mentoring relationship to high school and college students with health care professionals, in order to help students navigate the health care pipeline. The main students of the organization will be African-American men being paired with African-American mentors

Through direct mentorship, Mentor 1 proposes to:
Increase the overall graduation rate of Black Males through college. Increase the overall application & graduation rate of black males from health professional schools . Increase the number of Black Males in the health care professions (i.e. Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary, Podiatry). Provide lifelong personal and professional connections
