Socialmark Media is an interactive New Media Marketing firm based just outside of Toronto Canada. We specialize in building strategic plans for our clients that ignite their audience, and we hope it inspires a small movement to take place. Our slogan is this "Your Audience Is Waiting," and our philosophy is not to look at the tools (much like a contractor doesn't talk about his Dewalt drill), but to look at the bigger scope of developing Personal Branding, and Movement Branding (that just happen to use New Media).

As mentioned above we have a few different industries that we appeal / work with, but are wanting to focus heavily on these target audiences:
#1 Innovation Leaders ~ From finance to publishing, to travel and tourism there is a small group of individuals that are not happy with the way thing are. They know the business world has radically changed, and they want to inspire their own movements within their industries.
#2 Tourism Boards / Destination Marketing Organizations ~ For us this is a special group as they have tones of amazing stories, and really have the ability to utilize all that New Media has to offer. We especially love our East Coast / West Coast friends, and tend to focus on Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Alberta and B.C vs. Ontario
#3 Speakers and Authors ~ I (Josh Muirhead) love this group of people, and can connect with them easily. Being a semi-professional speaker myself, with small ambitions to write something, I tend to lend myself to this group of people. They are forward thinking, and are often talking about Change in Business, Culture, Society, Marketing... Or just do cool things to make change

Alright maybe a little more detail
Going back to who we are, the logo design has to reflect that we're not about Facebook, or Twitter, or whatever the latest tool is. We're about making change happen, starting movements and finding people to connect with our clients. Yes we use these tools, but that's because they are the best we have right now (but we also use some traditional tools when it fits).
I want something that can stand on it's own, and doesn't need a lot of words or explanations.
For colours, I'm open, but we are a primarily male company, and I am the figure head, so something a little more boy esc, would be ideal.
In addition, this logo will be appearing on different online services like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and will be shared throughout different blogs, so it has to look good even very small.
Finally, I love the name Socailmark Media, and want to be able to easily read it within the logo design. You can have cool graphics, but I still want to see my name.
