Maven Messaging & Communications is about advancing ideas, activating change for the social good, building brands, being creative, making connections that others don't necessarily make. It is about thinking smartly about problems and working to solve them in creative ways. It is about being thoughtful, gathering information that can help shed new light. It is about using storytelling to bring an issue to life so that people can see how change is possible.
You can see in the examples logos I uploaded that I like the play in the letters of the word. Many of the logos that I like somehow incorporate a reference to the business in how the letters come together. It makes you think but is not too clever or cutesy. That idea appeals to me - either playing with the letters of the name, or using the alliteration in the name - somehow using the M. I also really like the idea of using white/negative space (the FedEx logo, for example).
I recognize that Maven Messaging & Communications is a long name. The entire name does not have to be equal in size. The focus can be on either Maven or Maven Messaging, with "& Communications" being less important.
The focus of the company is strategic thinking and planning, not email. Please do not use icons like email envelopes or newsletters. The logo should be more thoughtful and sophisticated. I would prefer more abstract, subtle, suggestive imagery rather than directly symbolic imagery. I also like texture.
I like strong fonts that are sophisticated and bold. Of the example logos I included, I do not like the Napoleon et Josephine font (but I like the lines and dots and how the J dips into the line. I do not have a preference of lower case or upper case. Colors should be bold and they should be able to print in black and white.
The logo will be used online so should not have too much height - it should be more horizontal than vertical.
