jcnllllc got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Masculine, hip logo for high-end Whiskey decanter line
Check out jcnllllc's Logo design contest…
This logo is for a high-end, whiskey decanter and glass line. The name, Door 58, is a reference to the door of a famous Speakeasy during the Prohibition era of the 1920’s. As such, we want a slight art deco slant in our logo design so we can embrace the Prohibition-era theme. Our target customer is male, classy, modern, masculine with discerning taste. He understands the latest trends, but he is authentic and confident enough to be understated. Our decanters will be featured in the most hip Whiskey bars in the main urban areas of the US, especially in the Speakeasy revivals. Our brand/logo must fit this vibe. What we do want in a logo: We want the logo to be masculine, hip, clean, with an art deco slant. It must Authentic. Please see our Pinterest Mood Board (https://www.pinterest.com/jessicacoor5591/door-58-mood-board/), as the photos really tell the story of the mood/genre we want our logo to speak to. What we do NOT want in a logo: We do NOT want a logo that is too contrived, too vintage, too retro, or too ornate. Nothing too busy. We love the art deco aesthetic, but that can look too feminine or flashy. So we need to make sure we balance the art deco influence with our need to be masculine and hip. Packaging Our whiskey decanter set will be sold in high-end wood boxes. Our logo will be embossed/stamped on the wood packaging, similar to the Moore & Co box on our Pinterest Mood Board (https://www.pinterest.com/jessicacoor5591/door-58-mood-board/). Thus, whatever logo we use must translate well on this packaging.
