MihaDesigns came in strong by being the first designer to read the design spec, which goes a long way toward making a customer happy. Two designs were offered, one that took the elements of the "story" we offered and presented them simply; another that was a completely different interpretation. While the latter was not to our taste, it at least showed that thought was being put into the work. As for the first, simple design, we were blown away. We thought it was perfect; for a while.
After approving this design, MihaDesigns came back with a new logo that made us forget about the first one. Building on the original, it was an incredible combination of simplicity and subtle details that made it the design to beat. We asked for some changes that we weren't sure would work and Miha came back quickly with results (and proved to us that our ideas had flaws). After that, we appreciated that there was not a continual flow of small, meaningless changes that would waste our time. The design held, showing the confidence and professionalism of the designer.
This Designer surprised us all. Both image and text were perfect. Thank you, MihaDesigns, for the incredible work.
Great communication and all of my suggestions were delivered quickly. Great work!

OpenAcademix is a student information system for K-12 schools and a portal for parents and students. The audience is both school personnel and parents of K-12 students but it should also appeal to young people who are school age.
We'd like a logo that's friendly and accessible, delightful even. Not little-kidish and not techy. It should make you happy to look at it. Our brand emphasis is on "open" and we want to make it easy for parents and school staff to use data to get better at what they do. We're also open to partnering with other education technology platforms. Our logo should convey the open, friendly, good-natured aspect of the brand.
The logo should feeling of openess and inclusion. A simple clean sans-serif font should be used. A logomark should also be simple, conveying an idea of education: a metaphor for knowledge or communication, but not obvious. This is why the alliance logo was included in logos we like. The birds convey the idea in a way that isn't expected.
