chat 8 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
A Look Behind
Check out chat 8's Logo design contest…
We conduct interviews. We "look behind" the story. We connect with the people in a story and have truthful, heartfelt interviews with them. It is "Oprah" combined with news journalism. We do serious interviews with people to get the story "behind the story." We want to convey that we are SERIOUS and RESPECTED but also can think a little outside the box. We want the "story behind the story." NOTE: When I have feedback to the designs, I will post it here (if I think the feedback would help all of the designers). 1) No eyeballs or eyes. 2) Avoid anything cartoon like. "A Look Behind" means a look behind the facade or a closer, deeper look. There is the superficial or surface, and then there is a look (or interview) that takes a look behind the surface. Another way of thinking about it: "Behind the Mask, behind the facade, etc. Possible image: a half-opened door (the idea is: a look behind the door) but I'd like it be subtle.
I want it to feel professional with a little bit of "quirky" or "whimsical" This is journalism (and therefore serious) but we are open minded too. We conduct interviews with people who are the "story behind the story."
