LMC
LMC (Levnedsmiddelcentret, or Centre for Advanced Food Studies) is an organization that coordinates food research between five universities in Denmark. The centre represents a network between researchers but also has a secretariat to take care of administrative matters. FOOD Denmark Research School is a Research School in which PhD students in the area of food science follow scientific and generic courses of relevance to their studies and research. The FOOD Denmark Research School is a part of LMC.
Researchers, students and science community.
Reasons for new logo design: letters are too massive, the M is too prominent, the clouds in the middle of the logos have a dubious meaning and should be removed, colours are very dark and match poorly with each other, in the FOOD Denmark logo there is too much difference in letter size between FOOD and "Denmark Research School", there should be a better connection between "FOOD Denmark" and "Research School", respectively.
We want to preserve the basic ideas in the logos: the LMC logo should consist of the letters L, M and C (in that order), and the FOOD Denmark logo should contain the phrase: "FOOD Denmark Research School", colours should still be variations of green, blue and red (+/- black), the connection between the two logos should be easy to identify, logos should have some similarity in appearance.
Suggestions: tone of colours could be changed to lighter versions (acceptable red versions would include orange and pink), and/or they could have a metallic look, some graphic element may be added to the letters in the logos - other ideas are welcome!
