finknottle got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for a web 2.0 startup focussed on live music gigs
Check out finknottle's Logo design contest…
We need a logo for our startup. The website is focussed on makign it easier for the casual lover of music to find live music events happening in the local area very easily. The website address is http://www.gigzee.com
What's your vision?
gigzee.com is focussed on aggregating live music event information and then displaying it to end users in an innovative form so that the casual lover of music can find an event to go to within a few minutes of browsing. The website is focussed on local information, so maps is a key part of our display strategy. To that extent, we need a logo that is cool, yet simple. The letters should be clearly readabale. Adding some musical element to the logo will be fine, but is not required. The logo should be designed so that it looks good on a t-shirt.
- Vectored format for the images, so that resizing isnt an issue. - all letters should be lowercase, or else, the first letter should be capitalized. We can go with either one. - should add the word "Beta" under the logo - Open with color schemes, however the colors should be soothing and not hostile. - The font should be friendly, the letters should be all lowercase.- The first g should be such that it can be put in the favicon.
- very flashy logos, or too much design. keep it simple. - no musical note. :)
