2wed
We are a small team (3 guys) who are building their first web project. We are creating a website that allows young couples to create their own wedding website. They pick a template, upload some photos, and enter texts. After that they will have their own unique wedding website to share with family and friends.
What we need is a logo to help build our brand. This logo will appear both on our home page (the page that will sell/explain the product) and the back-end/Editor (the tool that the couple uses to build their wedding website).
We are trying to appeal to young couples who are getting married for the first time (there may be some second-timers among them) but for the most part our target audience is young, internet-savvy, and can distinguish between a quality web product and one that is not.
Our theory is that most of the time it will be the girl in the couple that is leading the charge for building a wedding website. She will take the time to pick the template/photos, write the couple's story, etc. We are not ruling out men though. The logo should appeal to both.
Most importantly, the logo should look professional (i.e. high quality) but not lose from being cute, lively, and fun.
The name 2wed has to meanings: "to wed" and "two wed"
Essentially, it is "to get married" or "two get married"
We have seen people play on the 2... as part of a heart... or as a swan. (I have included some examples).
The logo, however, should be simple and elegant. Not overly fancy or too intricate. Web is good. Old print style is bad. The logo should be highly readable... so no calligraphy.
Also, resist the urgent to create a logo only out of the name itself. Sometimes the best logos are a symbol... followed by the name. (This is only a suggestion).
The colors that you should stick to should be soft (a bit girly if you will). We think light blue, light brown, soft pink, soft yellow, peach, orange... these are the types of colors that work best.
The idea is to present something that is not too ornate, not cheezy.... but fresh, sophisticated, and fun.
For the most part, let your imagination run wild.
Submit your concepts, your thoughts, your first takes, second takes, etc. I plan on providing a lot of feedback and eliminating the ones I don't like at all.
I hope to make this iterative and collaborative so that we can quickly arrive at the perfect logo for our fledgling brand.
Oh and most of all... ask questions if there's anything I've left out.
