Jon.denunzio got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New logo wanted for Squarely Digital

We are a consulting firm that works with small- to medium-sized businesses to improve their web presence. We concentrate on helping them enhance their site's design, "editorial" content, SEO and use of analytics, as well as social media and other customer/user engagement efforts. Our target audience is a smart, time-pressed business owner who wants to take full advantage of the web but is not sure how and/or if he or she has the time to do it. The company is run by an ex-journalist, with an emphasis on traditional journalistic values: getting it right, attention to detail, clear and concise writing and design, performance on deadline, etc. But we have also have years of experience and a deep affinity for the digital tools that have changed business in the internet age. To us, "Squarely Digital" has a double meaning: We are focused directly on the digital space, and we are a bit "square" about it -- we don't go in for the latest web trend just because it's new and different. Our recommendations and solutions are smart, backed by data, and informed by years of experience and the traditional journalistic values described above.
Logo types to explore
Here are some general preferences I have for the logo -- although I would not mind being surprised by a great logo that looks a little different: - A simple symbol -- maybe geometric -- with bold lettering identifying the company. (like one of these -- with a more serious font: - http://logofaves.com/2009/03/cafe-melody/ - http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/42356 - A logo the recalls iPad/tablet app symbols -- examples: https://www.logolounge.com/Trends/2012/images/12-apps.jpg - A geometric pattern with several colors might work, if not too complex. Maybe like this: http://media.smashingmagazine.com/images/creative-logos-inspiration/imitacion.jpg - Font preference: no serifs
