The concept for the firm comes from Norse mythology and Odin's Ravens which represent thought and memory (google odin's ravens). Odin himself is known for his knowledge, working of magic, and imparting his wisdom for the benefit of mankind and others.
Ravensguard endeavors to deliver beyond expectations and our competitors by leveraging "thought" and "memory" (wisdom and knowledge/experience) to provide a unique, right-sized solution that is always a benefit and never a burden. Afterall, a system is easy to implement or operate in only its simplest forms, and the more complex and interconnected it is, the more important it is to have guidance and expertise in ensuring a healthy lifecycle and evolution.
Regarding the logo itself, I found a number of very interesting ravens and emblems online but am not sending them mostly because of time communicating what I like about them in this medium or how I might envision them. Ultimately the logo will be incorporated into an online presence to show the portfolio of services on network and systems architecture and optimization including virtualization, consolidation and convergence.
FYI: the website will remain offline until I get a new logo which I will feed into a web design project. http://www.ravensguard.com (and variations) are reserved for this purpose.
Winner gets an uberhuge virtual fist-bump, chest-bump, hi-five and hug in addition to cash awards. :-)
