Little Hands Big Helpers
We organize fund raisers that allow kids to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center.
Our time at St. Jude is what motivated us to start the non profit organization. The pictures of our daughter pulling her brother in the wagon is what inspired the logo design.
This is what I had written to the girl who was going to design the logo.
I have attached a couple of picture samples of the stick figures I was talking about.
I wanted the kids in the logo to be my kids so I asked them about the logo to get some input from them (Chloe is 7 and Davis will be 5 in a few weeks :0).
Chloe likes her hair down like the girl in the illustration but she also has bangs her hair is a little past her shoulders.
Chloe's favorite color is red (she wanted a red dress - but I told her that the wagon is already red) so she was wondering if you could make it a purple dress with red polka dots (because she loves cherries and the red polka dots would remind her of cherries)
Davis has what he calls "poker hair" (because if you touch the top it pokes you). That is why he likes this attached little boy illustration. Davis' favorite color is green so he was thinking black shorts and a green shirt on his character.
I know it is hard to derive much of anything from my "art work" example... but the idea is to have the boy behind the wagon leaning over pushing the wagon and the girl in front of the wagon pulling it (walking backwards) so that both of their bodies are facing the wagon (and each other) but their heads are turned to the side so that their faces are visible on the logo :0). The red wagon would have white lettering on the side that says "Little Hands Big Helpers" on it. If you can find a font that looks like child's writing that would be fantastic! With the idea of the stick figures and the cihldlike writing, I think they would look great together. The heart shaped earth would actually be resting more on it's side (not balanced on the point). The picture is just to give you an idea, I could not find a heart shaped earth that looked more like an illustration.
I have also drawn a sketch of the letterhead layout and layouts for the business cards and envelopes. For the letterhead I would like to do the address and phone number to the right of the logo (at the bottom) and do it in green so it resembles grass.
OK... I hope that all makes sense!
