How DanaHumaneLA started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Humane Society of Louisiana
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our grassroots nonprofit charity investigates animal abuse and helps animals around Louisiana. We are committed to promoting nonviolence towards animals statewide. Our members are primarily professional females aged 35+ so the logo should be something that would appeal to them.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
The logo should be something our donor base would want to wear on a t-shirt etc but it should have a professional look, which would be appropriate on our letterhead for communications to law enforcement agencies and legislators. One idea we had was for the logo to incorporate the silhouettes of animals, which would form/suggest the shape of the state of Louisiana, but we are open to suggestions; we do want our logo to communicate something distinctive about our group, as opposed to a plain paw print or something that could easily be associated with another group. One idea, for example, would be the use of a fleur de lis, as we are based in New Orleans and it is associated with Louisiana. We would like a graphic which could be used with or without our name for use on t-shirts etc. Also, the design should not just be a cat and dog, should incorporate at least one other type of animals - we work with horses a lot, so that would be a good choice. One group we are often confused with is the Louisiana SPCA (below) so we do not want our logo to look in any way like that one. Thanks!!
