My "tag line" in my marketing efforts will be "Capture the beauty of your life". I had a daughter - my first child - relatively late in life (she was born five days after my 47th birthday). She just turned two, and in her short life, I've literally taken thousands of pictures of her. My sense of gratitude and appreciation for her and the beauty that she represents in my life, is manifested in my photography. Sharing this with others means the world to me.
Taking all these photos has allowed me to reflect on the meaning that photography has held in my adult life. I'm discovering the depth of this passion and am increasingly finding that much of the pleasure I experience in my photography lies in creating a joyful experience in others. It's such a rewarding experience for me to have someone be positively impacted by my pictures. I see their reactions to my pictures (i.e., a sharp intake of breath, a smile, a look of wonder) and my heart wants jump out of my chest - not out of vanity for my photographs but out of the fact that I've impacted them so.
Right now, three genres hold the most appeal for me are: (a) portraiture (individuals, couples, children, families ... with the hope that I can build a wedding photography component at some point in future); (b) life events (e.g., newborn); and (c) fine art prints, revolving around landscape/vista/nature shots. These genres are what I'm going to open my business with and it's for this that I need a logo. My deep-down-secret IDEAL would be to keep selling fine art prints (I've already sold a couple) but I know that will take a long time to establish myself to the point of making a living from it. In the meantime, I'll focus on the first two genres listed above. I hope this additional information will give you more insight into my desire to have a logo revolving around the tag line, "Capture the beauty of your life." I'm even open to the idea of including a "nature-based" element into the logo, rather than the trite "camera" graphic, to augment the company name. Anyway, thank you for your time and consideration. I hope that we can work together!
