How GizmoBrewWorks started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Gizmo BrewWorks is a craft brewery in Raleigh, North Carolina. Most of the owners are tech-savvy folks who are experts in electro-mechanics and gadget building with a deep and abiding love of beer.
Our area is filled with high- tech professionals working in science and engineering research and development, pharmaceutical research, computer gaming companies, and other tech-savvy workers. We're looking to attract the 25-55 year old after-work crowd to a hip lounge with great craft beer, filled with entertaining gizmos and gadgets. We want an atmosphere that encourages inspiration, creativity and open discussion, and ideally a logo that conveys that.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We need a color logo that also works in montone. We will be printing or engraving a monotone version of the design on beer bottles and growlers.
We're also considering the possibility of including an "icon" to symbolize the brewery in addition to the stylized name. If we do include an icon, it needs to convey both a sense of gizmos and gadgetry and beer or beer brewing. In one of the files included, we sketched out the idea of a beer bottle with a rocket pack and roller skates. We are not committed to that particular image at all, but thought it might be a good way to explain what we're going for.
Also worth noting: that we're in the process of rebranding a number of beers. Some of which will need new logos. We'll be reaching out to the designers we like best from this contest for those contests as well.
