mtechumd got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New logo wanted for DC I-Corps
Check out mtechumd's Logo design contest…
DC I-Corps is a program based around the Washington, D.C. region designed to foster, grow and nurture an innovation ecosystem in the nation’s capital and the nearby states of Maryland and Virginia. The program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and jointly run by the University of Maryland College Park, George Washington University, and Virginia Tech. The program provides real world, hands-on training on how to successfully incorporate innovations into successful products. The ultimate goal is to create a new venture or licensing opportunity for program participants.
Logo types to explore
This logo, visually, should distinctively say "DC." We are generally open to creative ways for doing that. That said, we have discussed a logo option that includes illustrations of the U.S. Capitol and Washington Monument, perhaps with a few stars. This could be done with both buildings integrated into one logo, or one building or the other. Examples are included of stock art with multiple buildings, as well as one particularly creative alternate Washington Wizards logo with the Washington Monument in it. Again, we are open to creative ways of visually saying "DC" (not the letters, the region!). We do want the letters "DC I-Corps" in the logo though.
