The main elements of this business include a direct connection to a Native American tribe (Penobscots), flowing water, logs on the river bottom, operating in an environmentally responsibly manner and the recovery of an ancient natural resource. Many of the wood products we will produce will have laser engraved graphics representing both Native American and Maine river logging themes as both heritages evolved closely together over a 250 year period, Ultimately, we will be generating wood products without cutting down a single tree.
UnderWater Wood Specialists
This new and Native American owned small business specializes in harvesting old growth sinker logs from the Penobscot River in Maine, which is part of the Penobscot Indian Reservation. This recovered natural resource is offered as either raw material to woodworkers and artists or as finished products made by both Native American and other artists and woodworkers. All harvesting in performed in an environmentally responsible manner with Green marketplace sales as one merchandising objective. Each log is carefully lifted up from the river bottom causing a minimum of disturbance and the harvesting season is very short to minimize any negative effect on fish spawing and other ecosystems. The sunken logs are left over from Maine logging river drives dating between the late 1700's and the 1970's
- Item 1... We are open to creative ideas.
- Item 1... We do not want a logo that is to busy, not clear to its objective and confusing.
