Ideas in Action
This is a new organization. We want to provide a forum for social entrepreneurs, activists, and agents for positive change to develop meaningful and productive relationships with volunteers, professionals, service providers and donors.
The private sector doesn't hold a monopoly on efficiency or professional expertise. Nor do the NGOs and non-profits lay exclusive claim to idealism. We all share the opportunities and responsibilities to create a safer, more secure, and more prosperous world.
Ideas in Action works by pooling the comparative advantages of civil society, private industry, academia, government and others sectors of our community into one place to tackle our toughest social challenges. Day-in and day-out, men and women across our country work in our communities to make a lasting difference in people’s lives. We want to highlight their inspiring stories and help others replicate their success. We want non-profits to share lessons learned and private individuals to share their professional expertise.
By using video interviews, blogs, online conferences, and other social media tools, Ideas in Action can give organizations the tools they need to make meaningful change in our own neighborhoods, across our nation, and around the world.
We are reaching out to mid to late 20s and 30-somethings who want to help serve their communities or a cause that's important to them, but may not have the flexibility to donate money, but are willing to donate their time, their skills, their expertise and their passion. We're looking at researchers, humanitarians, lawyers, economists, academics, policy professionals, healthcare specialists, bankers, consultants, activitsts, writers, journalists, and development staff who are early in their career, but knowledgeable enough to help teach others what they've learned.
We need a logo with bold colors, but a simple and elegant design.
We would like it to evoke bright ideas that translate into good works through cooperation. It should be a positive, inspiring logo that can allude to any or all of the following themes and images: community, cooperation, light, youth, vitality, and sustainability.
It will be used on our business cards, websites, banners, and small items like pens or wristbands that we will distribute. So it must be scalable.
