SimpleSplash needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 888 designs submitted by 147 freelance designers.
I'm leaving creativity open to you...
though it MUST have an element that's impressive enough to make people stop and stare.
Read BRIEF for details.
Simple Splash
After 2days into the contest, I realized my first “brief” might be limiting creative ranges and ideas.
I’m loosening original requirements and opening the floor. You can stay the course with “splash” concept, or take ANY new direction you feel.
You’rethe pro's, so I’d like to see what ideas you have for my company.
Bottom line is I'm a designer who puts a lot of passion into my designs. I want every project to be unique and interesting, and my LOGO should be the same.
I'd like to know what you would create when given 100% creative freedom to deliver a logo that fits my name and passion for unique design.

You canpreview the current logo, which was a temporary design, at http://www.SimpleSplash.com
I'm opento all ideas about font style and colors for company name, though I think it'sbest if entire name is uniform in color.
Thesplash effect should be at either end of logo only, and the colors shouldprobably be primary. The texture needs to look like Paint, rich and thickwith a glossy gradient.
Here aresome texture examples for the paint

We'regoing to place the logo on a 3D shelf at the top of the site and the"paint" is going to be dripping down the page.
FOR REFERENCE of 3Dshelf, you can see how the banana is resting on the shelf of this design.
- Clean and "Simple" :)
- Artistic yet still sexy and sleek
- Gradients on company name
- Both "S" capitalized
- Use of 2 or 3 colors
- Use of a colorful icon or image(s) to compliment name
- text that is too fancy and hard to read (company name)
- logo with only blue and black colors
