David Risley needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 20 designs submitted by 16 freelance designers.
Looking for a professional logo for the online learning site which is part of http://www.pcmech.com. Logo name should be "PCMech University" and be ready for use on the web and in print.
PCMECH
Desired Color Scheme:
something suitable for a technology audience
Accepted File Formats:
Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff)
Existing membership site can be found at http://edu.pcmech.com. This membership site is going to be re-branded as "PCMech University". I need a logo to be created for the new design. The logo should be ready for integration with a web layout as well as use in print.
The word "PCMech" comes from my primary site, http://www.pcmech.com. The existing logo for this site, I believe, used "Zero Twos" as a font. I would like the logo for PCMech University to dovetail visually with the logo for PCMech in that we use a similar font for the PCMech portion of it. The rest of it can have any look.
Obviously, the site will be a tech site, but is educational so the logo can have that kind of theme to it. I am looking for creativity on the logo, and won't say more than that. The "PCMech" portion of the logo should be given visual priority as that is the brand.
Ultimately, I need an entire new layout for this site. I would like to offer the winning logo designer the option to create the rest of the site design for the membership site. I would like to also have the designer perform future work as needed for pcmech.com. Designer should have an understanding of how to graphically design for a technology site.
Please design this logo with the idea of future work in mind. Sitepoint didn't provide an option for posting the whole job, so I guess I'll have to split it up as such.
I will need the high-res, layered file (PS) sent to me as well as a finalized JPG or PNG image (layered merged).
Clarification
I see that some entries have taken the existing layout at http://www.pcmech.com and re-designed a header for it. This is NOT what I need. This membership site is going to be separate, and you can see the existing site at http://edu.pcmech.com. Please do not submit any re-designs of pcmech.com.
Secondly, I prefer the "pcmech" portion of the logo to use the same font as I currently use for "pcmech" at the top of both sites. This is a branding thing.
Lastly, I like the idea of the seal, guys. Again, let's just make use of the proper font for "pcmech". Thanks.
