Varsity Outreach got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for Social Networking App targeted at colleges - Guaranteed Prize
Check out Varsity Outreach's Logo design contest…
We build social networking apps for colleges. Schools use our apps to provide a place where future students, current students, and alumni can go to learn about the school and connect with each other. Our target audience (who we sell to) is college professionals (admissions, student life, and alumni professionals), so we need to exude stability and competence; but we are a social networking product so we want a web 2.0 / technology feel as well.
Logo types to explore
Our current website (www.varsityoutreach.com) should NOT be used as a reference point, we are planning to deploy a new site soon. (see attached) Our logo should express our collegiate focus but should also exude the fact that we're a social network and builder of great software apps.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $299.
Full copyright with production-ready files for digital and/or print.

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Varsity Outreach collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
