Food & Drink
We are a drive-thru coffee and tea business and our customers are generally younger as well as working class.
Logo types to explore
Look at the starbucks logo and this is how we'd want it: "Savage Roast" along the upper part and "Coffee & Tea" along the bottom. We want a "savage" style font, something edgy. You can choose whether to use capital letters, lower case, or whatever combination you think looks best. It does not have to be circular shaped -- squared, rectangular shaped is fine too. The starbucks logo is just an example, though I do like the way the text wraps around the logo. In the center, as our picture logo we want to incorporate fire. One idea is to have a disposable coffee cup engulfed by flames. See the fire image I attached and notice how it opens up -- it's almost V shaped. Drop a cup in the middle and you'll get the idea. As far as the disposable cup, be creative. Look at javadetour.com -- you can tell their logo is a disposable coffee cup, but it's a creative one. Also, we're a drive-thru coffee business, so if you can somehow incorporate "drive-thru" without hurting the design, that would be great! Finally, if you have your own idea, completely different from what I've asked for, have at it!! You'll even stand out more! And before it's too late, the logo must have a transparent background so we can brand different colored shirts and other items.

And then… they selected a winner!
Our designer went beyond what was stated in our brief and showed us something that we didn't even know we wanted. It made us put a lot more thought into the process, and broadened the scope of our project.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
