I'm a single person startup, doing technology for the robotics and unmanned systems industry. This generally means writing software and designing electromechanical components for small and large robots.
The applications include defense (like bomb disposal robots, robots to evacuate wounded soldiers), and commercial, such as agriculture, mining, and other similar industries.
I'm also interested in consumer product applications of robotics technologies - like the Roomba and other iRobot products.
The culture I'm trying to create for my company is based on Carnegie Mellon University's "be reasonable" principle. I.e., act reasonably, and behave as if others will act reasonably towards you.
I've spent 6 years in a different startup, and watched it go from 3 people, to acquisition, to integration into a large corporate environment. I'm starting this company to get back to what I loved about my early days at my previous job - the excitement, energy, and passion that goes behind most successful startups.
