I run a psychotherapy practice for adults and couples. I am looking for a logo that denotes care, compassion, understanding and acceptance. I'd also like to look professional, established, trustworthy and competent. I am open to how the designers interpret those concepts (please see the notes below for some guidelines and also look carefully at my design inspirations and style attributes to see what I like. I chose those carefully!). Here is my Psychology Today profile, which explains the focus of my practice: I specialize in working with adults who have depression/bipolar, anxiety, trauma, addiction and relationship issues, as well as couples experiencing marital difficulties. My therapeutic style is personalized to fit your individual needs and goals, though generally includes components of both psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy. I also have specialized training in EMDR (a brain-based trauma therapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy). I believe true healing and change can only take place in the context of a safe, supportive, and mutually respectful therapeutic relationship. Clients tell me they feel truly heard and seen, often for the first time, in our sessions. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I work in partnership with you to address your specific goals. I greatly value the unique history, perspective, and personality that each of my clients brings to the therapeutic process. As a practicing ceramic artist, I also very much enjoy helping my clients explore and actualize their own talents, skills and interests in living with joy, peace-of-mind and self-fulfillment.
-It's important to me that the font is readable-ie: not highly curlicued cursive or scribbled type of font. But that doesn't mean the font needs to be boring. Try to convey the adjectives described at the beginning of my brief with the font. -I like simple, powerful images versus complicated, cerebral graphics with a lot going on. Check out my inspirations above. All are pretty simple, whether abstract or realistic. -I seem to measure high on more feminine versus masculine feel, so make sure fonts and graphics are not too angular and masculine. -colors I like are blues, light purples such as lavender/blue, grey, pale yellow, maybe brown if it's used in a way I like--more gently (such as the bicycle or giraffe above) and lots of white. I'd have to be convinced about green since I see that everywhere with therapists. -please stay away from very cliched therapy images such as trees, which symbolize "growth" (not so much what I'm trying to emphasize). -some image ideas might be to play on the idea of water and also a safe haven, so houses or something like that. Hearts and more abstract hugging figures are also ok. I like watercolor images and the watery feel of those might go well with the name "brookhaven". But I'd like to see your ideas as well. -don't be afraid to show more than one concept, for example one more retro and one more modern. -if I love your logo, you will likely be offered the opportunity to work on other upcoming design projects I'll need including business cards, brochures, web graphics for a site and social media. Thank you! Excited to see your designs.

Ivana has been an absolute pleasure to work with. As a busy private practice clinician, I particularly appreciate how quickly she responded to my questions and completed project deliverables, and without sacrificing the quality of her work or her exquisite attention to detail. She made the process of designing my logo, business cards, and letterhead absolutely stress free. Ivana is by far the most responsive and gifted designer I have had the pleasure of working with. Thank you, Ivana!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
