Nutriken is a new premium infant formula product targeting infants (up to 1 year old) and children (1 - 3 years old) who are allergic to cow's milk, which is estimated to be about 5% of the total population. This category of formula is considered a premium product - there are 4 - 5 brands throughout the world targeting at this segment of the market, and these competing products are usually priced at 50 - 80% most expensive than regular baby formulas. Nutriken is a product coming out of a research lab at a prestigious medical school, and has been proven to perform better than any other competing products in terms of allergy rates and to taste better than others.
The target audience of Nutriken is middle-class and upper-class parents who have children with cow's milk allergy. Given the sensitivity of the baby formula category, the importance of branding is to convey credibility, premiumness, research-based nature, yet kid-friendliness, nutritious, amazing taste of the product. Two potential ideas to help you get started are 1) conveying the sense of mother's protection / care for her children (particularly applicable given that these kids are allergic to cow's milk!), 2) the benefits to child development. But these are just suggestions - we would explore anything interesting.
