Jay Tomlinson got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for a political podcast gameshow

This is an idea for a podcast/youtube political gameshow about getting outside of our news bubbles. It is political so it deals with real issues in a serious way but also manages to not take itself too seriously and injects lighthearted humor when possible.
As a podcast logo, the image needs to look good and be readable from 2000x2000 all the way down to ~40x40. The primary proportions need to be square but it would be good if it could also work expanded into a 16:9 kind of ratio. In terms of design ideas, I'm certainly open to suggestions but the first thought I had involved visualizing the mind in a bubble with color indicating the political views that are being kept in or out. Sort of like if a Shepard Fairey Hope-style image had a baby with this bubble head image (attached). I thought of the Hope image for encompassing both the red and the blue because I want to convey that the political media bubble phenomenon occurs on both the right and left. Note: both the Hope and bubble head images attached are fairly intricate but this is incidental, not necessarily indicative of a particular style I'm looking for. Good words to describe the tone: inviting, approachable, informative, fun, funny, insightful, irreverent, respectful discourse Words that DO NOT describe the tone: academic, pedantic, crass, zany, cartoony
