How WoodenWonders started their logo design journey
This is a new business launching in a few weeks at the Common Ground Country Fair (in Unity, ME-- FMI go to mofga.org). These aren't 'typical' playhouses-- the designs are inspired by favorite childhood fantasy worlds like those from The Hobbit, Dungeons & Dragons, Lord of the Rings, etc. The two prototypes I will have on display at the Fair are a Hobbit house and a castle. I hope to attract customers with unique eye-catching designs and draw them in through a sense of nostalgia and with reactions like: "Man, I wish I had one of those when I was a kid!". I'm a carpenter by trade with an artistic eye and am hoping to build a home-based business that provides a more flexible schedule for my growing family and at the same time gives me a creative outlet.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I am located in a rural area, but hope to market to an audience of parents (& grandparents) with a disposable income to match a high end, custom built product that will impress friends and relatives and provide endless hours of entertainment for all the kids in the family or neighborhood for years to come. I have relied on word of mouth and an excellent reputation for quality work for my carpentry business, but need to establish a more 'polished' front for this business since I will be accessing a new market and will need to convey the quality, creativity, and excellent customer service aspects of the business through marketing materials, rather than through customer testimonials-- at least to begin with.
We want a logo that incorporates the business name, Wooden Wonders, that can be used in our marketing materials: brochures, business cards, and, eventually, website, that captures the essence of the business as described above.
There should be a 'natural' feel to it.
Our tagline is: "playhouses inspiring imagination" and we would like that as an optional 'add-on' to the logo.
I want an image that will work as a monochrome image, but also has a full or multi-color version. Greens and browns would compliment a 'natural' theme. I like the look of rune-type fonts. We don't have a particular typeface or color scheme chosen as part of the image branding package, so you'll be helping us establish that as well.
I need vector based image files compatible with the Adobe Creative Suite.
