Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a medium/large family owned restaurant in a large mall in Anchorage, Alaska. We will be renovating/expanding for the 4th time in the last 40 years. We began in the 70's as the only espresso/sandwich shop in Alaska, and have been evolving ever since -- through two expansions, offering retail coffee items, and even a period in the 90's as an internet cafe. We have recently whittled down 95% of our retail and focused on food service. We feature locally roasted coffee, homemade soups, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and salads. Our menu combines classic American fare (like our house-made chicken noodle soup, a recipe not changed in 40 years) with international influences (such as Guinness-braised lamb and Thai curry wraps), and a special Alaskan flair (where else would you see reindeer sausage on the menu?). With the new expansion, we will also be offering locally brewed beer and wine for the first time. We welcome families of all sizes, including those with young children, third generation customers who visit us religiously, as well as other food service workers from the premiere hot spots around town. In the past, our logo has been a random clip art steaming coffee cup with our name in a calligraphy font. We want to pull away from that and embrace a new image as a contemporary and gourmet --yet affordable -- quick and friendly dining spot.

I need a logo that will look good on cups, menus, etc., but also that will look good on black fabric; aprons, chef hats, etc.We will be doing a complete remodel, but keeping our current furniture. I will probably be refinishing the chairs to a darker finish. The floor will be replaced with the tiling below. I will be replacing all of the wooden paneling with dark wooden tile. The ceiling and walls will be darker also.
The bottom picture is of part of our store frontage. The wood will be all refinished dark walnut and the logo will replace the 30 year old sign in the middle.
