CREATIVE BRIEF FOR LOGO DESIGN
OVERVIEW & BACKGROUND
The Neuroscience Center in Deerfield, Illinois is a multidisciplinary clinic, headed by Steven R. Best M.D., dedicated to the effective diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of neuropsychiatric diseases. Within its inviting, family-oriented environment, the clinic brings together a group of different specialists with a common interest in brain health matters.
The Neuroscience Center uses various state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment procedures, including EEG, Brain SPECT, utilization of lab tests (including genetic testing), Neurofeedback and Brain Stimulation techniques. The latter include: rTMS (repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) and tDCS (transcranial Direct Current Stimulation). In addition it provides workup and dose calibration for VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) and our recent innovation: Ketamine infusions facilitated by TMS. Testing and counseling is provided via a network of close outside collaborators.
Dr. Best has developed an in depth knowledge-base for using the information provided by diagnostic procedures such as Brain SPECT, EEG, and Neuropsychological testing, for the purpose of efficiently tailoring an individualized treatment strategy. He is also an expert in the indications for various Brain Stimulation methods including both non-invasive and implanted types. He has some of the most extensive clinical experience with rTMS in the United States (used in this clinic since 1999). He often supervises treatment teams and individual psychotherapy.
The Neuroscience Center has become a well known resource for complex Neuropsychiatric cases coming from local, national and international referral sources.
The style of the design should be simple/easy to perceive & recall/evocative of new-ness or relief or hope.
I don't know if you are aware of where the medical symbol came from ? In the Bible it is called The Brazen Snake...... it is the snake that is placed on the rod or staff of Moses...
This one is most simple, but is mildly inaccurate in the symbolism. the snake was placed on a rod or staff. not on a cross. i like it.
This one shows the rod or staff in a manner that is probably accurate....
PRIMARY TARGET AUDIENCE
My primary target is whomever might benefit from what we do. while it is very satisfying to deal with problems that other clinics were not able to help.......
It would be nice to be in a more balanced position - a wider variety of patients - less severely afflicted and also the people who choose us at the end of a long journey.
The targets should be:
1) kids with highly co-morbid conditions: autism + likely epileptic activity. or learning disability kids. or ADHD + concussion.
2) adults with emotional problems co-morbid to a history of concussion, or substance abuse, or other indication of insult to the brain + adults who have not gotten better from their supposedly straight-forward psychiatric diagnosis.
3) chronic pain patients --- almost ALWAYS with co-morbid emotional suffering.
At first glance, one would market to those with disposable cash.
In everyday experience that is not as important as one might guess - typically people get help from family or their religious community........
We have run into some trouble with people who live downtown in the fancy/overbuilt areas - they seem to need more glitz or bling than we provide.
And some of them are kind of secretive. they might be uncomfortable with the clinic approach - kids playing in the play room, dogs wandering around, the machinist coming in for lunch from the workshop out back, people recovering from anesthesia in quiet rooms. a lot of the "city people" want true anonymity.
If you think about The Brazen Snake........ you will know what I try to do. I try to see what needs to be seen, show it to the patient in a helpful way, and then guide the person to health.
All those words are good. and relentless.
purple, yellow, orange are good. (Mark Rothko colors)
