How Maddy's Mixes started their logo design journey
I have a home-based specialty food business. The products I offer are allergy-free pancake/cake/cookie mixes. I came up with the idea because I have daughter (Maddy) who has severe food allergies, and I wanted to be able to make treats for her such as pancakes, cookies, cakes, etc. The mixes I have created are free of any allergens such as eggs, dairy, nuts, and soy. Currently, my main product is an allergy-free pancake mix. I plan on expanding to include cookies and cakes in the near future.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My target audience is parents with food-allergic kids. I want them to be able to still make homemade treats for their kids even though they have so many dietary restrictions.
I would love a whimsical design with perhaps a girl/kid or a bowl or spoon or combination. Perhaps a silhouette of a kid doing a cart-wheel? In fact, the logo does not even need an image, perhaps just a great font and color combination? How about using a spoon or whisk for the "i" in "Mixes" - or even two spoons to make the "x" in "Mixes"? Or how about an image of a kid licking a spoon? Another option is to spell Maddy with an 'ie' at the end which would give you more spoon and whisk options.
Another idea, as the product has been inspired by Maddy, perhaps some kind of image of her? I included some pictures of her in the files. Although I added some photos, I am not looking for a photo-realistic image of her in the logo. I would prefer a more abstract or silhouette or cartoon-like girl if she is included in the logo.
