I'm another one of those people catching the social networking, web 2.0 wave. The site has to do with learning to play music and instruments, not just listening to music. I envision the site being bold as far as colors, with a simple and intuitive design. Finding what you're looking for will be the opposite of finding Waldo in the Where's Waldo books - the idea is not to have too much happening on each page. I'm most concerned with user experience and making the site accessible to people of all educational backgrounds.
I'm looking to reach a broad audience, all music related. On one side, this is targeted at music educators and instructors throughout the United States, e.g. your local guitar or piano teacher. On the other side, this is targeted at students of all ages, probably 5+, as well as parents of younger students who will not be searching the site themselves.
I'm looking for logos of both:
Please note the capitalization and dash in the two brand names above.
For color scheme, I'm leaning toward red, black, and grey in some combination. If you have a great idea to add another color, feel free to try it and I will give feedback. You can look at the following trial site for the red color I like the most:
I need logos that would sit in both the grey area on top, as well as the white area below. Summary of attributes I'm looking for:
1) Web 2.0 style as seen with other social networking sites on the web, somewhat simple - the "e-Clef" part is important.
2) Black, red, grey, (possibly one more), in some combination for color scheme.
3) Logos for both e-Clef and e-Clef.com
4) Feel free to be creative with symbols (musical) - they may appear in front of the wording, within the lettering, anything that you think looks cool. I'll provide feedback as quick as possible to let you know if it works for me or not.
Files: Ideally, I would like to have the original .ai or .psd files when all is said and done.
Other than the colors and specific wording, I'm very open to creativity. Surprise me if you have a good idea. Thanks so much for your help, and let me know if there are any questions. I look forward to seeing all the designs!
