How Lori K started their logo design journey
Blue Apron Baking Company
We are a husband and wife team opening up a local bakery. This has been our goal for nearly ten years and we are beyond excited to see this happen. Our primary product is soft crust breads and sweets (cookies, cinnamon rolls, scones, etc.). We will use fresh organic ingredients, no preservatives and nothing more than a day old. We will be grinding flour and baking all product on the premises. We also plan to offer celebration cakes (birthdays, weddings, etc). We hope the bakery will be a fun, welcoming shop where people in the community will become regular customers.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We will be located in Northville, MI, a suburb of Detroit. We want to appeal to the local community, specifically families with children, and others who appreciate fresh, wholesome ingredients and delicious sweet treats. Our location is surrounded by many neighborhoods, but also many businesses.
We are looking for a logo to represent our bakery, Blue Apron Baking Company.
We want the logo to be classic, with clean lines - no cartoon characters (like smiling cupcakes). We want to be sophisticated without being pretentious. We aren't necessarily looking for the logo to be a blue apron (as the primary focus) but we'd like it to be incorporated somehow if possible. We like the idea of the logo being contained in a circle, square or the like, something that we can easily have made into stickers to put onto product bags and containers. We are open to color in the logo - maybe blues and browns, but it needs to translate well to black and white (for faxing, etc). We do plan to have the employees wear blue aprons, with our logo printed on them. We are picturing a royal blue, but we are open at this point.
If it fits with the design, we had thought it might be nice to add as fine print 'Family owned since 2011'. We want people to know that we are a locally owned business, not a franchise. But only if it fits with the design, not a must have.
