Limbix got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for Limbix Productions
Check out Limbix's Logo design contest…
Limbix Productions is a nonprofit multimedia organization that produces documentaries--both long and short form--written articles, and photography on science, healthcare, and medicine, particularly at the intersection of those fields. Topics range from academic and translational research to human interest and personal narratives. Our target audience is diverse, ranging from medical industry professionals to students and educators to patients and families affected by cancer (a topic we will frequently discuss).
Logo types to explore
Attached is the logo we've been using. We're not dissatisfied with it but, at the least, it could use a professional pass being that it was made with PowerPoint in a pinch. We're also open to new interpretations. The color scheme is mildly significant: crystal violet being the color of many scientific research dyes as well as that of "time-out" markers used in operating rooms; the aquamarine color being similar to that of faded green operative scrubs. Please note that while we cover all issues relating to healthcare and medicine, we largely focus on themes in neuroscience, brain tumors, and neurosurgery --hence the title "Limbix" (derived from the name "Limbic System") and the inclusion of a symbolic neuron for the second "i" --a motif that would be nice to have represented. Finally, "Productions" doesn't necessarily need to be in the logo if you come up with a better design without it. Below is a link to a video we recently produced for an international neurosurgical organization (not public yet so please don't distribute) as an example of our work and use of the logo at the very end --which may be turned into an animated logo at some point down the road for subsequent videos/features. http://vimeo.com/m/76112501 Password: GDL2013 Thanks and we look forward to seeing your work- Best, Chris and the Limbix team
