Free Money Finance
Free Money Finance (http://www.freemoneyfinance.com) is a four-year-old personal finance blog designed to help readers grow their net worths. While the site does have a header image, a professionally developed logo is long overdue. This contest will select one.
In addition to an icon and the brand name, the site's tagline "grow your net worth" should also be incorporated into the logo, though it should be small and unassuming – similar to the size it is on the header of the site currently.
Free Money Finance is written by a single author (with occasional guest posts and book excerpts) named "FMF". FMF details his thoughts on a wide range of personal finance topics (making more money, saving money, retirement planning, investing, etc.) and readers chime in with their thoughts, opinions, suggestions, and so forth. To get a more detailed feel of what the site is about, check out the site's archives here: http://www.freemoneyfinance.com/archives.html. In addition, you can browse around the various posts in the "About FMF" section on the right sidebar.
Free Money Finance is read by people looking to grow their net worths (manage their money more effectively) from all walks of life. They vary by age, sex, race, nation (though most are in the US), and so on, but the common thread is that they want to earn more, save more, and keep more of their money. Free Money Finance helps them do this.
The site currently has 5,000 visitors per day, 14,000 subscribers, and over 9,000 pageviews per day. Since its inception, the blog has had almost 6 million visitors generating nearly 11 million pageviews.
See the attached logo guidelines summary for all the logo requirements. I've included as much as 99 Designs would allow here:
I want a logo that has: 1) a symbol/icon of some sort, 2) the name of the brand (Free Money Finance) and 3) the tagline (Grow your net worth). If you look at the current site header, you’ll see how all three are currently there.
There are three suggestions for the icon that I’ll offer:
• some sort of a unique star – I post “Star Money Articles” – articles that I feel are unusually good – and hence a star makes sense in this context.
• a unique antique/skeleton key – I often write pieces titled something like “five keys to doing this or that”.
• some sort of icon that suggests “growing your net worth”. For one example, see my recent contest for the Best of Money Carnival (http://99designs.com/contests/22007). Design #64 is one way that “grow net worth” could be illustrated (a modern version of an increasing stock table).
These comments aside, I am open to new/different icons/treatments too, so don’t let the above limit you if you think of something you believe works better.
I’d like to keep the green and yellow colors that are currently part of the logo at the top of the site, though I’m open to ideas/suggestions.
The logo should look good in color, white (on color background), & black.
The ultimate logo for the web needs to be lightweight.
