NaanStop is an Indian restaurant operating as a gourmet mobile food truck in Los Angeles, CA. Think Chipotle of Indian food. We have designed a menu of Indian-style wraps served on naan (indian flatbread) as a quick, on-the-go way to experience Indian cuisine. As a food truck, we seek to bring an Indian street food experience to the general American public.
Our target audience is young adventurous eaters (18-35) earning a $35k+ salary. We believe this demographic is particularly interested in food trucks and ethnic cuisine.
Note that we are not targeting Indians specifically. Rather, we want to be friendly and accessible to people who do not have much (or any) experience with Indian food.
We are looking for a recognizable logo for our new Indian restaurant. Below are a few things to think about, but don't let us limit you:
1. We would like something trendy, professional, and sleek, but with a warm and inviting feel.
2. Simple: Since the logo will be posted on the side of a truck, it should catch the eye, but be simple enough to absorb quickly.
3. Nothing too fancy: this is a quick service restaurant. We don't want to appear inaccessible as an everyday lunch option.
4. Consider using colors common in Indian food. Draw inspiration from common spices such as turmeric, cumin, coriander, and chili powder.
A great logo could lead to other freelance projects such as website design, business cards, etc.
Here are a few logos that we like:
http://thegrilledcheesetruck.com/ - this logo reveals several facts about the business in a fairly simple manner: the type of food served, the fact that it is on a food truck, and speed. It also targets a young demographic.
http://takosher.com/ - what we like about this logo is its ability to convey that the business is Jewish/Kosher in theme, but in a way that is still appealing to a larger young demographic who probably doesn't particularly care about eating kosher food.
