Attached is a web mockup made by a freelance designer. We would like a logo that fits into this color scheme and general look-and-feel. The new logo would replace the "Frilon" logo in the top-left corner of the mockup.
We want to convey a serious and mature yet affordable and easy-to-use product. Something colorful and inviting, but not childish.
The logo needs to fit as a permanent part of the software's interface, so it should not take up too much screen real-estate, or be too imposing so it might distract the user from the actual software. It should also not depend on a specific background color other than white.
The logo should be simple and memorable, enabling users to instantly recognize our brand. Its constant presence in the software interface should have the effect of "burning" our brand identity into the user's subconscious, but in a way that the user doesn't pay much attention to it on a conscious level.
We'd like the logo to consist of an easily-recognizable symbol which can optionally be accompanied by the full company name. Perhaps some stylization of the letter G, perhaps G and S combined, or perhaps something more abstract. This way the logo can take up less screen space but still evoke our brand.
We don't want to signal that the software is for hardcore business users only. The most important target audience is regular employees who receive salary, so we don't want to scare anyone off. On the other hand we want users to feel assured that our product is serious and trustworthy. So the logo will need to strike a balance between seriousness/credibility and ease-of-use.
The core product is free to use, and that concept is embedded in our name, but we do not want the logo to push this message any further. We want to signal that our product is as high quality as any of our competitors.
We want the logo to convey that our product is different from other similar solutions. It is fresh, modern and aims to simplify something that is normally considered very complicated. So simplicity is a key word, and we want to avoid something generic that is similar to other products in the industry.
Based on a list of existing logos that we were shown, this one best shows the style we are looking for: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.co…5e832b.jpg
However, plese do not restrict yourself to something very similar to this. Feel free to think outside the box.
In general, we are not designers and don't know exactly what we're looking for, so feel free to "wow" us. I am happy to answer any questions or give feedback.
